Homework
All children have weekly homework. This is an excellent way to promote the partnership between school and home and we expect you to support your child with this.
All children have a Reading Record Book. We ask you to hear your child read, ask them questions about the book and write a comment in their Reading Record book on a regular basis. Each piece of homework will be reinforcing something already taught in class that week. It will be explained to your child in school.
Homework Timetables
For children in Key Stage One homework is an activity we hope the children will complete with your support and encouragement.
Daily reading, learning letter names and sounds, practicing correct letter formation and number formation, etc are the main activities the children will experience.
As the children move up the school, we expect the children to be able to complete their homework independently. The parent’s role however is still vital, but it changes to one of encouragement, providing the time and opportunity for homework to be completed, showing you are interested and you care about it providing quality control.
Day to day details will be included in each class’s termly newsletter.
