Hockey Heats and Finals

  • Hockey -Heats and finals

This term we took two KS2 Hockey teams to the Cambridge schools qualifiers, it is only 4 a-side, with no goalkeepers, so it is an exciting and fast-paced game!

Both teams represented our school fantastically and we enjoyed great success too. We all had to play 12 short-format games in a round robin schedule and one of our teams did so well that they did not lose a single match! Boasting a record of 11 wins and 1 draw they dominated the competition and claimed our very first tournament win in 1st place!

As winners of the Cambridge schools’ tournament we qualified for the County finals in St Ives. We had to play the winners of all the Cambridgeshire regions, from Peterborough, Huntingdon, South Cambs and Witchford. This was a very high quality of opposition and our school did extremely well to compete at this level, the children loved the experience and were a credit to the school throughout the day.
