Raptor Foundation visit

10th February 2017
Year 3 had a wonderful afternoon on Friday when we were visited by the Raptor Foundation to complete our science work on skeletons this half term. The children dissected owl pellets and became detectives to discover what their owl had eaten the previous day. They worked with precision to match the bones to a bone sorting chart and discovered vertebrae, hip joints, skulls and much more. Our visiting owls and Spike the hawk were very well behaved allowing us to stroke them and to watch a flying display. Thank you to Terri the park curator, who gave us all so much scientific information and such an enjoyable and enriching experience.
