Trinity College visit - Year 3

16th June 2016

On Thursday 16th June, Year 3 was lucky enough to visit Trinity College, Cambridge. What a visit it was! In the Chapel we not only saw a statue of Isaac Newton but were also treated to a song sung by some talented members of the Chapel choir. We sang The Grove School song accompanied by Mrs Bunce on a shiny grand piano and the acoustics were amazing. We saw and heard the enormous organ and had the opportunity to play the timpani and cymbal. Each group of ten children then had a guided tour of the college with our very own undergraduate seeing the grounds, and river, a statue of King Henry VIII, The Wren Library and so much more. Our final treat was to eat lunch in the Great Hall, joined by the fellows and undergraduates of Trinity.

The children were inspired by all they experienced and their behaviour was a credit to The Grove. We would all like to thank the thoughtful and very welcoming team at Trinity for a truly memorable trip.
