***Welcome to The Grove Primary School***

Welcome

We hope you enjoy exploring our website and you are able to find out lots about our fantastic school.

Welcome to our school

I am delighted to introduce our school to you through our website.

The school website is a very important tool in celebrating the amazing activities that take place at The Grove.  It is also a vital tool in communicating with parents, carers and visitors as well as providing information about the various policies, practice and procedures in our school. Our new website has been designed to give you a taste of our school as well as providing regular updated information for parents.

The Grove is a diverse school where every child is valued, is encouraged to celebrate individuality, takes care of one another and does the best they can. We aim to provide the best opportunities for all children so that they each develop a life-long zest for learning, can celebrate their talents and are able to recognise how their choices impact on others.

We are very proud of our friendly, caring community, where our children feel happy, confident and valued on their personal learning journey having a willingness to learn from their mistakes.

Please come visit and see our children in action.  We look forward to welcoming you and your family to our school.

IMPORTANT – Consultation re EYFS Admission Numbers 2021/22

At present, the school has a published intake size of 60 pupils in reception.  In recent years, the number of children joining The Grove in Reception has been significantly lower than 60. Looking forward, Local Authority forecasts indicate that over the next few years the numbers of children reaching school age within The Grove catchment will continue to decline.

There is a statutory limit on class sizes of 30 pupils in Key Stage 1. If The Grove admissions to EYFS continue to be in the range of 35 to 45 pupils it becomes very difficult for a school to plan a consistent class structure across the school which meets the needs of all children and provides our children with the education they deserve.

Therefore, the governors propose for the School Pupil Admission Number (PAN) into Reception to be reduced from 60 to 30.

It is important that as Governors we consult with our stakeholders and seek your views.

Please send any views or questions to Simon Virr, the Chair of Governors, at chair@grove.cambs.sch.uk. The consultation will be open for six weeks and will close on Monday 27th January 2020
